“The times are urgent. Let us slow down.”

Slow Lane has emerged over a long period of immersive inquiry into the the possibility of creating spaces dedicated to healing.

Orland Bishop’s writing “On Sanctuary” has helped to guide this project since its inception:

Sanctuary is a safe, secure place of rest and recovery, a place of shared respect for the conflict a person is in and the potential for change and transformation. It is a place where giving is intentional and cathartic and makes possible the question, “What if?”

Sanctuary is a place of divination where the seeds of possibility are seen. It is a place of help and a place to assess the help that is needed.

Sanctuary is a place where the inner dream is nourished and the inner voice of the call can be heard. It is a place of protection against the constant intrusion of violence and abandonment – a place of peace.

Sanctuary is a place of meeting, of mentoring, a place of welcome.

Slow Lane is the simple offering of sanctuary to my community.

It is a place to find shelter from the fast pace of our modern lives, to have our attention renewed, to be re-membered to our selves and to the broader living world, and to cultivate greater presence, harmony, and flow in our lives.

I hope to welcome you soon.
